Universal Type Server is in Standby mode after restoring a backup and users are unable to connect.
There are two ways that this can happen:
- You restored a backup that has Active or Open Directory users in it. UTS will go into 'Standby' mode while it is updating directory user data behind the scenes. When it's done, it should automatically go back to 'Normal' mode and allow users to connect.
- You restored a backup that is configured to connect to a directory service that is not available to UTS. If the directory service information is out of date in UTS, you'll need to delete the old service settings and configure UTS with the current ones.
In either case, you can manually change UTS to the 'Normal' access state.
To do this:
- Log into UTS Administration (port 18081)
- Click on 'Settings'
- Change the Access state to 'Normal', then click on 'Update Server'.
