NOTE: In Mac OS X 10.7 and later the user’s Library folder is not visible in the Finder. To reach the Library folder, hold the Option key down and click on the Go menu in the Finder; there will now be a “Library” menu option with no keyboard shortcut.
Selecting “Library” takes you to the user’s Library folder.
Clear the type core session files
- In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder
- For “Go the the folder” enter “~/.Extensis” and press Enter
- Drag the FMCore folder to the Trash
Reset the user preferences
Go to /Users/Username/Library/Preferences/ in the Finder and drag the following files, if present, to the Trash:
Create a new font vault in Suitcase Fusion
Go to /Users/Username/Library/Extensis/Suitcase Fusion/ in the Finder. Drag the Suitcase Fusion.fontvault to the desktop. When you launch Suitcase Fusion, it will create a new font vault.
If you have to collect your fonts out of the old font vault:
- Control-click on the Suitcase Fusion.fontvault on the desktop and select Show Package Contents
- Open the SA folder and drag the “l” folder to the desktop
- From the desktop, drag the “l” folder to your Font Library in Suitcase Fusion
Create a new user datastore in Universal Type Client
Go to /Library/Extensis/UTC/ in the Finder. Select any folders present and drag them to the Trash. When you launch UTC, it will create a new user datastore; after you enter your username and password, UTC will sync with Universal Type Server and download your workgroups, sets, and fonts.
