Description of the issue
Projects in After Effects unexpectedly close and reopen when the Extensis font activation plugin is installed.
In order to get After Effects to recognize fonts that Suitcase or Universal Type Client has auto-activated, the plugin must close and re-open a project after font activation is completed.
During the project re-open process you may encounter a white screen or screen blinks as the project is reloaded.
This issue has been reported, but shouldn’t cause any harm to your After Effects project.
Description of the Environment
The issue affects the font activation plugins on the macOS in After Effects CC2017 and CC2018 for the following Extensis products:
- Suitcase Fusion 7 and 8
- Universal Type Client 6
Solution
Extensis has filed a request with Adobe Team and is pursuing a more suitable solution for handling font activation in After Effects.
An update to the plugin will be made as soon an alternative solution is possible.
