Problem
Font(s) does not activate properly when using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or other creative applications.
Environment
Several Issues can cause fonts not to activate properly such as:
1) Wrong or Missing font
2) Incorrect Workgroup or Library selected
3) Missing or incorrect plug-in installed
Resolution
1) Wrong or Missing font
- Ensure the font trying to activate is the correct font. Use the font Name or Font Sense ID to locate it in Suitcase Fusion.
- Search fonts using the Find method:
- NOTE – QuickFind only searches the current Library selected. Using the full Find feature is recommended when searching all fonts (Choose Edit > Find Fonts.)
- TIP – Searching by the Font Sense ID will give you a 100% match. Using the Postscript Name may show duplicate fonts with the same name(s) if they are listed in Suitcase Fusion.
2) Incorrect Workgroup or Library selected
Make sure that you have the correct libraries enabled for successful auto-activation; you’ll need to launch the parent application you wish to verify.
A List and Compatibility chart can be found here:
- Examples - You can access the plug-in features by using the following menu paths:
- Illustrator & InDesign:
- Type Menu>Suitcase Fusion>Select Library> select All Libraries (or the desired library)
- Photoshop:
- Menu>Automate>Extensis>click Preferences> select Enable Suitcase Fusion auto-activation
- QuarkXPress
- Utilities >Suitcase Fusion> Select All Libraries(or the desired library)
