In GeoExpress 9.5 and later you must enter both a serial number and license code for product activation. Serial numbers were added to make it easier to switch between GeoExpress editions. Prior to 9.5 you had to completely uninstall the software just to switch from the trial edition to the standard edition or from the standard edition to unlimited. Now you can enter another serial number and license code to switch to another edition of GeoExpress. The serial number determines which edition to use and the license code unlocks functionality of the software.
How do I enter the serial number and license code?
- Open GeoExpress.
- Click Options > Licensing.
The License and Cartridge Management dialog appears. - In the Serial Numbersection, enter the serial number. A green checkmark will appear and verify the serial number is correct for your version.
- If you are using a floating license, skip to the next step. Otherwise enter the license code in the Licensing section. A green checkmark will appear and verify the license.
- Optionally, if you purchased a NITF license, select the NITFcheck box.
- Click OK. The User Account Control window will prompt for an administrator password to apply the changes. Note: Your changes are not permanent until you click Yeson this box.
The License and Cartridge Management dialog closes, and the main window displays the licensing status.
How do I get a serial number?
Look in your purchase confirmation email for the serial number.
How do I get a license code?
- Run GeoExpress by clicking the desktop icon or by clicking the Startmenu and clicking Programs > LizardTech > GeoExpress > GeoExpress 9.5. GeoExpress starts.
- Click Options > Licensing.
- The License and Cartridge Management dialog box appears. If the temporary license code has expired, the License Management dialog box opens when GeoExpress starts.
- Click the Send Activation Request to open a web browser and navigate to the activation website.
- Fill out the contact information, LizardTech product, and system information sections of the form. The serial number and locking code sections will automatically populate for license fulfillment. You will be contacted by LizardTech Technical Support within one business day.
