Yes. You can use the Express Cartridge Manager (ECM) Server functionality to share your data cartridges across your network.
Details
On the computer(s) that you want to serve the cartridges, browse the installation DVD to the “ECMServer” folder and run “setup.exe“. This installs the ECM Server and registers it as a service. If you already have a cartridge installed make sure you say NO when the installer asks if you want to install the cartridge manager. If you say yes to this it will overwrite your existing cartridge with a zero balance.
Note: The service does not start initially; you must open your Services applet and manually start it. When the computer reboots, the service starts automatically from then on.
After you’ve installed the ECM Server, you must select the network data cartridge on your GeoExpress client(s).
- For GeoExpress 9.5 or earlier selectData Cartridge from the Tools The Data Cartridge Manager dialog appears. For GeoExpress 9.5.1 or later select Licensing from the Options menu and skip to part 3. The data cartridge information can be entered at the bottom of this window only if you already have a license.
- Select the Use network ECMradio button and then click Select a network ECM. The Network ECM Settings dialog appears.
- Enter the computer name or the IP address of the computer (the default port is 9002 and it is unlikely you will ever need to change it) and click OKto close each dialog.
