Access tools when the window is resized
If you resize your main window to smaller dimensions, some of the tools may disappear from the toolbar, starting on the right. These tools can still be quickly accessed using the More Buttons drop-down. It’s located at the upper right on the end of the toolbar.
Drag layers within and between groups in the Project pane
Layers higher up in the list in the Project pane are displayed in the Map pane on top of other layers occupying the same area. You can drag layers to move them up or down in the list.
Hover over a CRS in the status bar to view its details
Hovering over a coordinate reference system (CRS) at the left end of the status bar displays a pop-up pane with more detailed information on that CRS.
Use the Overview pane to “quick pan”
Once you have zoomed in to a layer, use the Overview pane to “quick pan”. Click and hold in the Overview pane, then move the cursor until the navigation rectangle encompasses the region you wish to view.
World files take precedence over native georeferencing
When a world file is present and the “Read world files” checkbox and the “Use layer’s native CRS” radio button are both selected in the Georeferencing preferences dialog, world files will take precedence over native georeferencing.
Zoom to layers
A quick way to zoom in to a region of interest is to select the appropriate layers in the Project pane, then right-click and choose Zoom to layers from the context menu.
