When launching a creative application such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator, you receive the error message:
“The Suitcase Fusion Type Core that is currently running is incompatible with the Extensis font Management Plug-in.
Please make sure you are running the latest version of Suitcase Fusion. Plug-in functionality will be disabled.”
This can happen in the latest version of Suitcase Fusion on both MacOS and Windows operating systems.
1. You are running an out of date version of Suitcase Fusion that is not compatible with your Creative applications. Please see our Support compatibility guide here:
- PLEASE NOTE – Adobe CC2019 is only compatible with Suitcase Fusion 9 (version 20.x)
2. This error is can also be due to a recent update you may have done with Suitcase Fusion and a plug-in may not have updated properly. To resolve this issue, simply quit all open Adobe applications and open the Manage Plug-ins menu from the Suitcase application.
Once opened, you can simply click the update plug-ins button at the bottom of the window or uncheck and recheck the box for the Enabled plug-ins under each application. Be sure to use the pull down menu in the upper right corner to view all the different Creative applications.
Once the plug-in updates are applied, you can re-open your creative application(s) and you should no longer encounter the error message.
Occasionally, a manual removal of a plug-in may be required. Please use the following article on how to remove the plug-ins manually:
