Suitcase Fusion has several methods for finding fonts in your library.
Using QuickFind to locate fonts
As the name implies, QuickFind is the fastest way to narrow down the list of fonts in your font vault.
Select your font library then click on the QuickFind search bar and start typing; as you type, fonts that don’t match will be filtered out. You can switch between font libraries, Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, and system fonts by clicking on the desired font source in the sidebar.

By default, Quickfind searchs the font name, font family name, foundry name, classification, style, and any tags that were applied. You can narrow down the search options by clicking on the magnifying glass in the QuickFind field and selecting a field to search.

Using the Find command to locate fonts
In Suitcase Fusion, choose Edit > Find Fonts. A panel opens at the top of the font preview panel.

You can select the library or font source to search in the Search In field, or leave it set to “All” to search your entire font vault.
You can select the field to search in the first dropdown menu. The second dropdown menu lets you select the search type; the most common options are:
- “Contains”: the search term must be at least part of the field
- “Does not contain”: the search term must not be any part of the field
- “Starts with”: the search term must be at the beginning of the field
- “Does not start with”: the search term must not be at the beginning of the field
- “Ends with”: the search term must be at the end of the field
- “Does not end with”: the search term must not be at the end of the field
- “Matches”: the search term must make up the contents of the field
- “Does not match”: the search term must not make up the contents of the field
Some search fields have different search types.
You can enter the term to be searched for in the text box; some search fields will show a list of predefined options instead.
Yon can add additional search conditions by clicking the Plus (+) button. By default, Suitcase Fusion will display fonts that meet any of the search conditions. You can have Suitcase search for fonts that meet all of the search conditions by changing “any” to “all” in the dropdown menu in “Find fonts that match any of the following conditions”.

Creating a Smart Search
You can create a Smart Search; this shows up in the Smart Searches section of the Suitcase Fusion window. Clicking on a Smart Search causes Suitcase Fusion to perform the search and display the results automatically.

Click the New Smart Search button, or choose File > New Smart Search. An untitled Smart Search will appear under Smart Searches, and the search panel appears at the top of the font preview panel. A Smart Search takes the same search conditions as the Find command.
