Connect Fonts started out as a single-user, standalone application. Some features will be new to users of Universal Type Client, and some features work in slightly different ways.
Workgroups and cloud libraries
Cloud libraries are to TeamSync what workgroups are to Universal Type Server. You can use cloud libraries to group your fonts and control who has access to them. Unlike workgroups in UTS, users have the same role on every team cloud library they are assigned to.
Users who had a personal workgroup in UTC can create personal cloud libraries in Connect Fonts.
For more information on cloud libraries, go to Creating local and cloud-based libraries in the Connect Fonts Desktop application.
New font list and preview panels
Font information and previews in Connect Fonts are shown inline; clicking on a font and choosing View > Show Info opens a pane that shows a list of glyphs in the font, the font's metadata, QuickMatch previews, and which documents in Document Tracking use the font.
By default, Connect Fonts shows font previews organized by font name. For a more compact font listing, choose View > Show Font List.
New features
Document tracking
Connect Fonts can track and display which fonts you use in a document without opening the application. You can make sure the required fonts are in Connect Fonts and see whether they're active. Double-clicking a document thumbnail opens the application and activates the fonts automatically--no waiting for plug-ins!
Connect Fonts can track documents for the Adobe Creative Suite and the Affinity Suite. For more information on document tracking, go to Using document tracking in the Connect Fonts Desktop application to activate fonts.
Auto-activation plug-in for Sketch
Connect Fonts includes an auto-activation plug-in for Sketch version 51 and later.
