Issue
Several reports have identified an issue in which fonts activated in Connect Fonts, Suitcase Fusion, Universal Type Client or installed directly within the operating system are not recognized by InDesign version(s) 17.2 or 17.1, part of the Adobe CC 2022 suite. These fonts seem to activate properly otherwise, but will not appear in text selection menus and/or appear to be missing from a project/document on version(s) 17.2 or 17.1 of InDesign CC 2022 specifically. These fonts otherwise activate normally in other Adobe CC 2022 applications.
Solution
Adobe has released InDesign version 17.2.1 version which addresses this issue.
Please update to this latest version using the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
If updating InDesign to 17.2.1 does not immediately fix the issue, please try the following:
Step 1) Quit InDesign
Step 2) Delete the following:
MacOS:
- /Users/[User_name]/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign
- /Users/[User_name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
Windows:
- C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign
- C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign
Step 3) Relaunch InDesign
ALTERNATE/TEMPORARY SOLUTION
We are asking people (to consider) downgrading to InDesign 17.0 or 17.0.1 in order to use the Extensis auto-activation plug-ins.
Adobe is aware and is working on an upcoming release to address these issues.
