Affected versions
This article applies to Suitcase Fusion versions 21.0.0 though 22.0.2 only, on supported versions of Windows. A fix was applied in Suitcase Fusion 22.0.3 and later, and all versions of Connect Fonts.
Symptoms
When I try to upgrade Suitcase Fusion by choosing Help > Check for Updates, the upgrade doesn't complete and Suitcase displays an error:

Solution
Starting with Suitcase Fusion v22.0.3, we sign the Suitcase Fusion application with a new digital certificate. This certificate is used to verify that the application hasn't been damaged or modified. When you try to upgrade to newer versions of Suitcase Fusion, or to Connect Fonts, the upgrade process can't verify the new certificate and displays the error message.
You can avoid the error by downloading and installing the latest version directly via the installer for Connect Fonts from https://www.extensis.com/support/connect-fonts.
Installing Connect Fonts to fix this error won't remove your fonts, sets, or libraries. Once you upgrade to Connect Fonts, the updater will recognize the new digital certificate and update your application properly, and you will be able to update the application using the built-in Help > Check for Updates option moving forward.
