Affected versions
This article applies to Suitcase Fusion for Mac versions 20 through 22 and Connect Fonts for Mac version 23.
Symptoms
When you open Suitcase Fusion you get an error dialog. Clicking Quit quits the application; clicking New Vault prompts you to find a location for a new font vault.
Solution
When you upgrade to a newer version of Suitcase Fusion (or to Connect Fonts), the new application updates the database in the font vault. Once the database has been updated, it can't be used by older versions of Suitcase Fusion.
If you or a network administrator installed Connect Fonts on your Mac, there may still be a copy of Suitcase Fusion in the Applications folder and on your Dock. If you try to open Suitcase Fusion after Connect Fonts has updated the font vault, you will see this dialog. Quit Suitcase Fusion and drag it to the Trash; you can add Connect Fonts to your Dock instead.
You may see this dialog if you try to revert to an older version of Suitcase Fusion. You must create a new font vault; you can also restore a Suitcase Fusion archive created in the older version. For more information, go to Reverting from Connect Fonts to Suitcase Fusion.
