Enabling the Fonts Add-on - available in Docs and Slides ONLY
To enable the Fonts Add-on:
- Open any Google Document in Docs or Slides or create a new one.
- From the Extensions > Add-ons menu, click Get Add-ons
- In the Search Add-ons box, enter "Extensis Fonts"
- Select the Extensis Fonts add-on from the list.
- Click the Install button in the upper right hand corner.
- Click Accept to install the add-on to your Google Docs account.
The Fonts Add-on will now be available for use in any of your Google Documents.
Launching the Fonts Add-on
You must launch the Fonts Add-on in each document when you want to use it.
To launch the Fonts Add-on - from the Extensions menu, point to Extensis Fonts for Google Docs and choose Start.
Note: it is possible that one Add-on may disable another when it starts. If you use multiple add-ons, you may need to re-launch the Fonts Add-on when you need it.
Showing Popular & Trending Fonts
Want to know what's popular with Google Fonts users, or what's trending? Use the Fonts panel to show you the newest and hottest fonts.
To sort the font list - click the Sort menu at the top of the Fonts panel and choose a new sort option from the list.
Showing Smaller Groups of Fonts
Sometimes you're looking for only a certain style of font, and don't want to weed through everything to find it. Use the Show menu to display only specific styles of fonts available.
To show only specific styles - click the Show menu and choose a new style from the list.
Changing the Font Preview Size
To select one of the preview sizes, click and drag the size slider at the bottom of the panel.
