NOTE: The following requires a Connect or Connect + Insight subscription (not available for Connect Fonts only subscriptions)
Teams (Without Provisioning)
Creating Teams allows administrators to quickly manage a group of users. Team organization helps ensure consistent access for all the members to the same font libraries. Adding or removing users from the team becomes a simple task.
- Login to https://connect.extensis.com/
- In the Administration tab, select Users
- Select the Teams tab at the top
- Click the New Team button in the top-right
The only required field is the name for the team. Users and Font Libraries can be added at any time.
Teams (Directory Service)
If your IT has configured Connect to work and provision with your organization's Microsoft Entra ID or OKTA, then the teams will be automatically created for you. You can recognize these types of teams by the icon next to the team name:
Once libraries are assigned to these teams, anyone added or removed in the corresponding group within Azure or OKTA will be reflected in Connect
Permissions
NOTE: Granular permissions are only available in Connect + Insight subscriptions
There are three permissions available when setting up a team that will automatically assign access to the associated libraries:
User Default: Users will maintain the global role they are set to in Connect
Read Only: Users will only be able to active and deactivate fonts
Modify: Includes Read Only permissions as well as the permission to add/remove fonts and collect fonts for output
Users that have been assigned higher permissions directly will display a key icon next to their name, indicating they have elevated access:
Library access assigned via a team are only editable through th team itself and is indicated by a team icon next to the library assignment on the user card:
Best Practices
It our recommendation that assignment and permission be set at the team level first. Users requiring higher level permissions should then be set directly at the global level on their user card:
