Description
This article describes completely uninstalling Portfolio 3.x from a Mac OS or Windows server.
Solution
The instructions below assume that the location of the backup folder, logs folder, vault folder, and work folder have not been changed. To see if the locations of those folders have changed, log in to the Portfolio Administration application; the Global Settings sections lists the locations of those folders on the server.
Uninstalling Portfolio 3.x or 4.x for Mac OS
Portfolio 3.x includes an Installer package that stops the services and removes the application files.
- Move your backups to a safe location
- Go to /Applications/Extensis/Portfolio Server/applications/Uninstaller/
- Open the Portfolio 3.x.x Uninstaller.pkg
- Click Continue, then click Install
- When the package has finished, close the Installer application
To remove the remaining parts of your Portfolio installation:
- Go to /Applications/Extensis/ and remove the Portfolio Server folder
- Go to /Library/Extensis/ and remove the Portfolio folder
- Go to /Users/Shared/ and remove the “Portfolio” and “portfolio server files” folders
- If the backup folder, logs folder, vault folder, and work folder were changed from the default locations, go to those locations and remove the folders
Restarting the server is recommended, especially if you plan to do a clean installation of Portfolio.
Uninstalling Portfolio 3.x or 4.x for Windows
- Move your backups to a safe location
- Open the Control Panel, then go to Programs and Features
- Select Extensis Portfolio 3.x.x and click Uninstall
- When the uninstall of Portfolio has finished, close Programs and Features
To remove the remaining parts of your Portfolio installation:
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Extensis\ and remove the Portfolio Server folder
- Go to C:\ProgramData\Extensis\ and remove the Portfolio and Portfolio folders
- If the backup folder, logs folder, vault folder, and work folder were changed from the default locations, go to those locations and remove the folders
Some entries must be removed from the Windows registry. It is strongly recommended that you make a backup of your registry, in case a mistake is made.
- Open the Registry Editor
- Go to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Prefs\extensis\
- Delete the “portfolio” key
- Go to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Apache Software Foundation
- Delete the “Procrun 2.0” key
- Close the Registry Editor
Restarting the server is recommended, especially if you plan to do a clean installation of Portfolio.
