There are two possible ways to “delete” an asset:
-
You can remove the asset from a library, but leave it in All Assets, and any other libraries that contain the asset.
-
You can delete the asset everywhere: every library, and All Assets.
To remove an asset from a library:
-
Select the library in the Asset Libraries pane, then select the asset.
-
Click the menu below the asset thumbnail (or right-click the asset), then choose Delete.
-
In the confirmation dialog, click Remove from library.
If you click Delete at this point, the asset will be deleted from every library and from All Assets.
Note: If you select an asset in All Assets rather than a library, you will only have the option to Delete the asset. If this is not your intention, then click Cancel.
To delete the asset everywhere:
-
Select the asset in All Assets or in any library.
-
Click the menu below the asset thumbnail (or right-click the asset), then choose Delete.
-
In the confirmation dialog, click Delete.
If you selected the asset within a library, you will also have the Remove from library option. If you choose this, then the asset will be removed from the selected library only.
Removing asset libraries
You can also remove whole asset libraries, with similar options for the disposal of assets within the selected library.
To remove a library but retain its assets:
-
Select the library in the Asset Libraries pane.
-
Click the menu at the right end of the library entry and choose Delete Library.
-
In the confirmation dialog, click Delete library only.
If you click Delete library & assets, the assets will be deleted from all libraries and All Assets.
To delete a library and all its assets:
-
Select the library in the Asset Libraries pane.
-
Click the menu at the right end of the library entry and choose Delete Library.
-
In the confirmation dialog, click Delete library & assets.
If you click Delete library only, then the library will be removed and all its assets will remain in All Assets and any other libraries they were added to.
